Early summer is a great time to have your roof checked or repaired.
There is no way to fully protect your roof from sun damage, but there are a few things you can do to mitigate this damage. New roofing materials are designed to withstand sunlight better than older roofs, so if you need a new roof – the summer can be a great time to kill two birds with one stone.
The signs of sun damage are not always easy to see, which is why it’s a good idea to have an inspection at the beginning of summer to see how your roof is fairing. SPC Construction & Roofing is offering free inspections in order to make sure your roof is sound and ready for the summer heat!
Often, people forget that water damage causes the majority of roofing problems, and just because it’s summer, doesn’t make this fact any less true. Sometimes, when your roof is baking under the hot sun, cracking or seam issues can arise which can let water in the next time it rains and cause a huge mess and headache.
So, even if summers in Texas aren’t known for their high rain volume’s, it’s important to remember that water damage can still strike, even in the hot, sunny months.
Summer storms and showers can cause more damage than you may think. Make sure your roof is ready for all aspects of summer.
Sometimes the damage to your roof in the summer isn’t directly from the heat or sun, but indirectly related instead. Having a lot of trees overhanging your house might be good for shade or curb appeal, but they can also cause a lot of damage if they fall or if large branches hang low enough.
Additionally, watch out for the foliage which could be clogging your gutters and causing more water damage in the future.
Did you know that summer storms are one of the most common causes of roof damage this season? And though Texas is often thought of as hot and dry, summer showers are still a possibility!
You should have a roof inspection to check for leaks or damage from previous summers before this year gets into full swing. Early summer is actually a great time for roof replacement and repairs – so don’t hesitate, now is the perfect time.
